Jonathan Leech is an artistic woodturner, producing bowls, dishes and platters. All his wood is locally-sourced and is obtained sustainably, for example from fallen or storm-damaged trees. It’s then air and kiln dried before being shaped by hand. The final stages include fine sanding and finishing with lemon oil, to give a perfectly smooth finish. Each piece is truly unique, making the perfect gift for the home.

I take pride in the standard of the finish, rarely using varnishes or dyes. I love developing the woods grain colours, retaining it's natural beauty and individual features. I don't use templates so each piece is a different design. I hope they make unique, tactile & useful gifts which are made with pride and care.

My aim is to make objects that are practical and yet aesthetically pleasing using wood that is either sourced directly by me from hedgerows, prunings etc or made of other peoples castoffs and recycled furniture. I do also make things that are purely decorative (at least to me) My personal favourites are those pieces that have something of the original natural element left in such as natural holes, bark etc. I rarely make two things alike as the wood tends to dictate the look of my work it.
